Mikey Day (born March 20th, 1980 in Orange County, California) found comedy early through school plays, sketch writing, and student government. He leaned into performance during high school and later studied theater at UCLA, where he sharpened his writing and improv skills.
Before mainstream fame, Day spent years grinding through sketch comedy. He became a member of The Groundlings, one of the top improv groups in Los Angeles. During this time, he gained early internet fame through the viral David Blaine Street Magic parody videos, built a working relationship with Nick Cannon on MTV’s Wild ‘N Out, and served as a correspondent for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
In 2013, Mikey joined Saturday Night Live as a writer. His behind-the-scenes work quickly made him one of the show’s most reliable creative voices.
