French Toast however originated in the 5th century from the Romans. prepared bread as French Toast called Pan Dulcis, Romans would soak their bread in a milk and egg mixture, then fry it in butter.
Later on, history shows how the people during the medieval period in Europe would not waste food because of scarcity. Also, bread has a religious symbolic meaning and therefore day-old bread was important to feed people and for morale and spiritual purpose. At the time cooks knew bread could be soaked in egg and milk and then fried to revitalize it.
