National PIZZA Week ORIGIN & HISTORY

People don’t really know exactly where National PIZZA Week came from. We do know it’s celebrated the 2nd week in January. I think pizza shouldn’t be limited to one day. In school, pizza is generally a rectangle but it could also be a bagel, an English muffin, a pita triangle, a portobello mushroom cap, or even eggplant or zucchini pizza boats. Wow, that’s creative! Pizza FAQ

What’s the most popular type of PIZZA crust?

  • Why thin of course according to a study done in 2016. It surprised us as well. Thin beat out traditional, thick, french, stuffed, and my personal favorites: deep dish and Sicilian.

What’s Detroit pizza?

  • Detroit pizza has a rectangular thick, crispy, chewy crust developed in Detroit, Michigan USA. It also has tomato sauce and cheese that runs right up to the edge. Some say the very best classically made Detroit-style would be Buddy’s Pizza. Buddy’s after all is the one that developed it in 1946. Check them out if you ever visit Detroit.

Who has the best PIZZA in Boston?

  • Ernesto’s Pizza at the North End, but if you’re willing to drive we’ve found one of the best pizzerias in North Adams, Massachusetts called Ramuntos Brick Oven Pizza. It’s really very good.

What sets the best PIZZA apart from all the rest?

  • Sure you can reorder all the toppings inside or outside a pizza. But arguably the dough is what sets them apart. Scarr’s is the only pizzeria in New York City that uses freshly milled flour in their dough. They do this by stone-grinding their own flour in the basement from wheat berries harvested upstate. This could make this one of the best pizzas in NYC. What … did you think it was the water?
