📚 READ ACROSS AMERICA Week 2026 – Mar 3-7

Red, white, and read all over from coast to coast, cover to cover. One nation under books – these star-spangled stories were born to be read. United we read as we travel the states, one page at a time.

Read Across America Day was established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1997 with the goal of promoting reading among children. Coinciding with Dr. Seuss’s birthday, the day naturally evolved to also celebrate the legacy of this beloved children’s author. His whimsical tales and rhymes have since become central to the festivities, although the day encourages reading of all kinds.

Children learn even before they are born through interactions and care that goes on while mothers are pregnant. This is why “it’s important to create a warm loving environment and caring environment for mothers during the unborn child’s development.

“After children are born, they hear and start to recognize sounds in baby books. The letter “TAV” is the first breath and last breath taken in the Torah. Reading Comprehension Strategies

This is important to the reader as it takes the child or adult on a journey, and as we engage in practice and learning strategies, we acquire knowledge. Readers learn and actively predict the outcomes of what they read, or have a read-along. Readers actively explore their quizzical exploration of what they read; it can be a wonderful way to expand children’s curiosity.

KEY CONCEPTS ARE:

Identifying the Main Idea: Determining the central point of a text.

Summarizing: Condensing information into a concise overview.

Making Inferences: Drawing conclusions based on text clues and prior knowledge.

Visualizing: Creating mental images of what is being read.

Understanding Text Structure: Recognizing how texts are organized (e.g., sequence, cause and effect, compare and contrast).

Adam Sandler

In 2008, Adam Sandler, ✡️ 💜 ☮️ a handyman, told stories to his niece and nephew which actually came true: Reading stories is a way to bring books to life. Reading can be a wonderful intimate practice, or it can foster relationships between parents and teachers and their children or students. Dr. Barry Bogan at Kennesaw State University Bagwell School of Education has an expert knack for teaching College Students how to teach reading.

Also, Children Learn from religious institutions like a Children’s Bible or Sunday, religious Instruction, etc. Children also form bonds with their peers by having a greater ability to express ideas by using better vocabulary. The reader also fully emerges themselves into the storybook-like Belle did in the beginning of Beauty and the Beast or truly any other story they read in case they are shy. As an adolescent, my favorite writer was Charlotte Bronte, and I loved Jane Eyre also wonderful children writers are C.S. Lewis, Janette Oke, and Tracie Peterson.

Throughout the year kids learn so many topics from the beginning of the first day of school to the end of year parties and pool parties. Kids learn so much information, valuable, fun, and exciting. This week is a way to embrace children’s unique curiosity.

Inspiring authors like these help children to use positive moral values with decision making. The characters in these stories help children to develop their young minds and develop faith and positivity in themselves and others. Faith based literature It is positive and encouraging often found in Sunday School or other religious practices that help to embrace faith in God. This is clean literature for young impressionable minds.

The story of Jesus’s Birth in Bethlehem and the Young Messiah is the best, especially since it helps teachers that used to be called Rabbi or moms like MARY 💜💜💜 to appreciate their wonderful blessing.

Howard Garner, is a well known theorist of pedagogy, explains how children learn differently. Some children need concrete versus abstract knowledge to acquire knowledge. Children learn using multiple learning styles and capabilities.

Dress Up Like Dr. Suess – Theodore Giesel’s whose birth is Springfield. The Springfield Museum has a wonderful online multiple museums in addition to a very special Dr. Suess museum collection as an idea, visit Springfield Museum in person Museum.

Close to Springfields wonderful museum collection is a geological site for dinosaurs. This is a great book idea, Eric Carle Author of the Hungry Hungry Caterpillar and more and Six Flags Over New England in Agawam and Lake Compounce.

Host a book tournament and journal about the books read to have discussions about what the readers learn.

Have book buddies

Bonding with mothers is important as well as with fathers. This book offers great family ideas. Boys and Girls love baseball and this is a wonderful bonding time to enjoy this book written by wonderful sports author Chris Stanisci. He is deeply loved 💙 and missed and he left behind a young daughter with special needs. 🤗
