Ski resorts, communities, and outdoor clubs around the globe celebrate by hosting snow-themed festivals, sledding races, and ice skating parties.
While it’s a fantastic excuse to hit the slopes or build a snowman, the day also focuses on winter sports safety and environmental education. It highlights the importance of preserving snowy ecosystems – which have seen a noticeable decline due to changing global climates – so future generations can continue to enjoy the magic of a fresh snowfall.
