📱 National TECHIES Day ORIGIN & HISTORY
It’s a day to honor and appreciate the contributions of individuals who work in the field of technology and celebrate the advancements and innovations in the tech industry. Whether you’re a tech professional or simply someone who enjoys technology, it’s a great day to recognize the impact of tech in our lives. National TECHIES Day is celebrated on the 3rd Day in October.
Have you used a computer today? More than likely you did! These days the reality is everything is computerized. Therefore IT people, although usually very smart, aren’t some nerdy science subset. We should be grateful to techies because they’re the ones who help us live our lives much smoother.
How did National TECHIES Day start?
Way back in 1999, CNT (Computer Networking Technology) Networks through techies.com started National TECHIES Day as an initiative to encourage high school students to consider a career in technology. With so many opportunities in the growing tech field, young people pursuing these careers will find favorable options anywhere they look.
Everywhere we see our lives are interwoven with technology. We rely on it for virtually every aspect of modern existence, from how we communicate and work to how we access information and entertain ourselves. Tech has become an indispensable thread in the fabric of our society. From the moment we wake up to when we go to bed, we need technology.
Smartphones connect us with friends and family. Online searches answer our questions and streaming services provide our entertainment. Even our homes have become “smart”. And don’t get us started about how artificial intelligence and automation are reshaping industries; from our self-driving cars to AI-driven customer service.
Recognition of an Industry
In healthcare, transportation, and education, technology is a driving force, enhancing our quality of life. To navigate this tech-driven landscape and ensure its continued progress, we rely on techies and IT professionals. They’re the architects behind the systems, the guardians of data security, and the troubleshooters when things go awry … and they DO go awry.
In essence, techies are the unsung heroes who enable us to harness the immense potential of technology in our day-to-day lives. IT techies are integral in our lives and society; without them, we would be in disarray. Even James Bond (007) relies upon Q branch for backup.
When we think of techies we may relate to the guys from IT crowd. On the other spectrum, the Big Bang Theory roomies come to mind. We depend on them. They’re the ones that help the Earth (and practically everything on it) to function or at least be Gen Z habitable. Techies need to be up to date on the most current innovations. This allows us to live our best lives. We seriously owe IT a debt of appreciation. Let’s honor them with huge thanks.
