They also served at the Columbian Exposition of the 1893 World’s Fair.

In Boston

At that time a less chocolatey version of a brownie of what we are familiar with today was being made at Boston Cooking School in Massachusetts. They wrote the Cooking School Cookbook.

America’s Test Kitchen is from Boston and offers great ways to teach people including kids to cook and bake. New York

Chicago and Boston are known for excellent food and desserts. Like a lot of great things, cheesecake brownies are said to have originated in New York. The New York Times in 1897 had the first recorded information on cream cheese brownies. It was a basic recipe that had only four ingredients: chocolate, butter, sugar, and cream cheese.
