β€οΈ YOU MATTER TO ME ORIGIN & HISTORY
YOU MATTER TO ME Day was established to express deep appreciation to the important individuals in our lives and is celebrated on the 7th Day in October. In 2010, Linda Jew started this special day, drawing inspiration from a life-altering event she experienced.
Linda shared a close bond with a dear friend, much like many of us do with our loved ones. Tragically, she faced the loss of her cherished friend and her friend’s son in a fatal accident. This incident deeply affected Linda, leaving her regretful for not having expressed appreciation to them before their untimely departure.
Linda grappled with a profound sense of loss and regret following the tragic event. It served as a poignant reminder that life is incredibly precious, and we mustn’t overlook the significance of our loved ones.
In the wake of her personal ordeal, Linda began openly expressing to those around her just how much they meant to her. She came to the realization that, regardless of life’s uncertainties, we should never take our relationships for granted. Demonstrating care and appreciation for the people who enrich our lives is essential because we may not always have the opportunity to convey how much they matter and how deeply we love them for who they are. Motivated by this insight, she initiated a day dedicated to this sentiment: YOU MATTER TO ME Day.
